review 1: 6 STARS ACTUALLY!!!!!!OH MY G.O.S.H (lego movie voice in there ;) ). This series just keeps getting better. Really...EACH one is better than the last. I just don't know what to tell you. There really is nothing I can say about the book that won't give part of the plot away. There are so many fabulous characters, and so many things going on, but DANG...this book was FAB FREAKING TABULOUS!I have said before in my reviews no on is safe in these books. It makes me quite scared. I am already DYING for the next book. Why oh why can't they just all come out now. I cannot wait. It may just kill me ;).The writing in this book is amazing. The story is even more amazing. I love the characters. I keep praying that the ones I truly love stay for the long run. Although som... moree of them have already moved on. UGH........How do I review this? I don't know. I am being series when I say I cannot say anything without giving anything away. So I am just telling you now that this series is AMAZING...You will not regret if if you start it (which you should do...like now...add it to your Christmas list). Okay maybe you will, but if you do I am sad for you because it's FREAKING AWESOME!Rhodes, well done...WELL. DONE!
review 2: To say that I liked this book puts it mildly. This has been one of my most enjoyable reads of the year. The thing that amazes me the most is the Rhodes was able to create a believable, complex high fantasy and still have incredibly deep characters. The majority of the characters grew and developed, and my only quarrel is with the ending, which is a cliff hanger worthy of Rick Riordan.CHARACTERSCLEO- I love how her character is strong. Cleo is always ready to fight, and seems to be willing to do anything to get her throne back. The one problem is that it is almost like she is a walking oxymoron, bright and cheery one moment and then moody and serious the next.MAGNUS- Magnus continues to be my favorite character. He is by far the most dynamic, as in the last book he was practically wrapped around the king's little finger, and this time around it is quite the opposite. Personally, I find Magnus swoon-worthy, because of his small, almost unnoticed acts of kindness. Also, there is a confession of his that comes right at the end that I feel is the whole book in in the making.JONAS- Sorry, but Jonas is by far my least my least favorite character. He just reminds me of a lost puppy, running around, trying to figjre out what to do.And finally...LUCIA- For the majority of the series, I enjoyed Lucia's character. She somehow is fierce and innocent at the same time. That is, until Alexius showed up. Suddenly she became rash and hormonal. PLOTI have no quarrels with the plot. It was clear, concise and well thought out. Betrayals and daring rescues are littered throughout the book, and it had, in my opinion, just the right amount of romance.my only problem was with the cliffhanger. Seriously, when the last sentence you here from someone is "He had fallen in love with her" (which made me very happy) or "And she was ready to watch the world burn" (which totally freaked me out) it leaves you dying for more.Overall, a really good book! less
