review 1: If a book makes me cry, it automatically receives an extra star. Sadly, there's no option for 6 stars. I picked this book up randomly because I wanted to read more Pakistani authors and I was not disappointed. The writing was beautiful and moving and most importantly, believable. There were a few moments when I felt like the way some of the elders spoke sounded rather hifalutin, but then I realised that they have a tendency to translate from Urdu to English. This is one of those books that, once read, the reader needs to recover from them. Having said that, GO BUY IT NOW.

Saira : the person she wanted to be and the woman she has become is actually a combination of both: her choices and different roles from different scripts. I enjoyed it and will recommend it to others. less
