review 1: Where do I begin? In the beginning, it started off a semi-page turner. Mainly because I was trying to figure out how the book was directly related to the prequel and what was going on with Rene and Sand. After awhile, I realized this was NOTHING like the sequel and seemed unrelated. The only thing related was that the same characters were in the book, however the main focus was on Chyna, who really didn't seem that important in the prequel. I couldn't wait to finish this book. I actually started skipping pages. Especially during all the sex scenes. I am so glad to be done with this book.
review 2: In Stud Princess the sequel to My Secrets Your Lies author N’tyse lives up to her moniker while thrusting readers back into the lives of Sand and Rene. Although the
... more ladies parted ways the feelings that they have for each haven’t disappeared. That concern that they share for one another have placed both Sand and Rene at the mercy of the manipulative Chyna. Chyna is blackmailing both ladies into working for her within her criminal organization with promises of not bringing harm to the other. Neither Sand nor Rene is aware of the fact that they are both being conned by the same scheme especially since they haven’t had any contact with each other. The novel effortlessly revolves around Chyna who’s running her prostitution and drug rings with an iron fist. Chyna is definitely about her paper but her biggest motivating factor is getting revenge on Rene’s ex-employer Albrey, who she holds responsible for her uncle’s incarceration. Chyna who only had a minor role in My Secret Your Lies shines under the spotlight as the antagonist and focal point of Stud Princess. Reading the first installment of the saga isn’t even necessary as N’tyse easily weaves the characters back story into Stud Princess without readers feeling as if the entire first book is being rehashed. With Stud Princess N’tyse effectively provides readers with a sequel that doesn’t have that stagnant sequel feel. By allowing the book to center around a new character N’tyse essentially gives readers a new story that contains updates on characters that they grew attached to in the first story. N’tyse also introduces several new characters such as Illusion and Ty, two prostitutes that are desperately trying to flee from Chyna’s prostitution ring. The problem is that Chyna isn’t in the business of taking losses a lesson that Illusion, Ty, sand & Rene will all have to find out. What did you like best about the book? With so many sequels flooding the urban book market it was refreshing to read sequel that really wasn’t a sequel. What did you dislike about the book? The book ending had too much of a happily ever after feel. How could the author improve this book? The author should take note that if everything wraps up too nicely it tends to give the book an unrealistic feel.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- less

The book was not great, it was not horrible; but it was much better than its predecessor.
