review 1: This is the second book I read written by Patrick Lencioni.  The first was the Five dysfunctions of a Team.  This is another easy to read leadership book as Lencioni stated in the introduction is written with the purpose of summarizing all of his prior books on into one book.  Lencioni accomplished that objective from my perspective as he defines the most important aspect of any business, church, or community group is the culture it reflects and how that will always be the differentiator to be successful.  He does this by defining four important disciplines for any team (Build a cohesive leadership team, Create Clarity, Over communicate Clarity, and Reinforce Clarity). Each discipline is important, but the first two disciplines are critical to any success and in my opi... morenion its where most teams fail. I recommend this book for anyone looking at starting a new team, business, or group. Or if you are looking at how to improve a current team you are a part of.  I would say this book is slated more toward an individual with a people or sometimes defined as a servant oriented leadeship style.
review 2: Partly, I'm not in a leadership role at an organization. This book is for leadership teams. Still, I really enjoy the subject, and it's still extremely insightful for anyone who works in an organization. The main downside, in my mind, is his style of writing. Perhaps he was unable to use real-world examples, real names, etc in his case studies because of client confidentiality, but there are parts which are very dull that could have been much more interesting. Nonetheless, excellent for anyone in an organization. less
