review 1: Ooo, this book is creepy. It's starts out as merely odd, and I thought it might even be supernatural, but things get progressively more sinister until they become out and out terrifying and it becomes clear that this isn't a man with unusual powers, but a man with severe and dangerous mental illness. If you think too hard about it, it could read a little far fetched, but I think probably it's genius is that it isn't really. It's an interesting idea to approach the lead up to a violent psychotic episode from the perspective of the person experiencing it themselves.
review 2: This is a silly, silly book. I was warned not to expect much, as the author is the guy who wrote Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and if the movie is anything to go by, that is a terse, cheesy,
... moreflat piece of nothing much. But this one was advertised by some respectable papers as an incisive thriller or something. Buy Gone Girl or Before I Go to Sleep instead, and save yourself from this poorly written pretentious bit of pseudo-psychological fluff. less

Tämä osoittautuikin yllättävän hyväksi kirjaksi. Tykkäsin todella paljon.

Well written but ultimately rather a dull story. Just not for me.
