review 1: banal & overwrought. very little on actual action, the majority of the book is repetitive inner dialogue coupled with jagged POV jumps. like others, i only finished reading because it was the first in the series - i wanted to quit after the first two chapters barely got the couple through saying "hello". i just started the second book & would honestly reccomend that readers simply skip this one.
review 2: This was a very nice story about a love that little by little came to be. Even against their own wishes.Ashok is a maharaja and takes his duty very seriously. But he can't forgive the few mistakes he thinks he has to make amends for even if they weren't his. So now he keeps all his feelings locked tightly away. Sophia lives a life os scandal, but that's h... moreer way of hiding in plain sight. Sophia is trying to run away from an unwanted arranged marriage, she thinks her one slavation is Ashok, but he doesn't want anything to do with her and her scandals. Finding no other way to escape she stows away on Ashok's private jet. She plans to then escape to London after their arrival at his destination. But the press found out about where she was and her family demands he marry her. Now married by duty they will have to find a way to live together and find happiness.But will Sophia be able to open Ashok's heart and will he be able to let go of the past and start a new future. You have to read it to see how they find their HEA. less
