review 1: Good follow-up to “The Dreaming Void”. More details on the cool technology introduced in the first book and continuation of an intriguing storyline with many sub-plots. Since this is the 2nd book in the trilogy, I expected a drop off in novelty, but hoped the book would deliver high entertainment value. Basically, I knew what I was getting into and was not disappointed. I also realized that I must be a Peter Hamilton fan. I have listened to 5 of his books and enjoy his mix of tech, storytelling and action. Importantly, I do not find myself getting bored and wondering “what’s on TV?”.
review 2: A good SciFi novel is close to ruined by a horribly bad fantasy story. Way too much time is spent in the void dream fantasy section. If that part lost a 100 pag
... morees nothing would be lost. Doesn't help that the main fantasy character might be my least favorite character in the last ten years. So if you want to read more of the Commonwealth storyline be ready to pay with weak fantasy side story. Least we finally got the real reason Living Dream wants to go to the void. less

Book 2 in the "dreaming" sci-fi trilogy. Once you've come this far, you can't turn back.

Not bad a bit lightweight for my taste in SF but enjoyable none the less.
