review 1: Loved the whole book. Makes you feel like you are there with her in the cage as the wood cuts away at her body and the rats and mice are fighting her for survival. Very descriptive with the different chapters and how each killing is explained and makes you want to jump out of your skin to actually feel the pain that is involved as she continually kills to relieve the pain she holds inside. In the end the story twists to something that you never expected to happen. I will definitely be looking for Pierre's' other books to read.

However, I liked the way the ending made the best of a terrible situation, and I have to admire the author's ingenuity, even while I deplored his even thinking that such things could happen. less

Very dark and disturbing book. The ending was the best part.
