review 1: 3 starsThis was just okay for me, and I was disappointed because I've read the whole series so far. It's a good read but not the kind of story that draws you and won't let you go, like the first few were. I think part of the problem was the long space between this book and the last one. I couldn't remember all the details about the detective partners or even a couple of the MCs. You have to read the previous books to understand the quirky characters, not at all a stand-alone.
review 2: Loved this book right up until about the 85% mark when the structure, tension and all that is usually brilliant about this series, collapsed. It felt almost as if someone else had taken over the writing. The 'real' authors kicked back in for the epilogue, but that earlier floppy
... moreblip cost what was otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable read, its five star rating. That said, the characters remain some of the best inked, the plot was contemporary and the writing in the main was sharp, and at times, witty enough for some great laugh out loud moments. less

Now I see why this is the last of the "Monkeewrench " series. It's obviously run out of gas.

Good. Took a while for the threads to come together, which always makes me impatient.

as ever in this series a cracking story and fretting for the characters .

Another nice easy read from the mother/daughter writing duo PJ Tracy.

My favorite Monkeewrench book yet. Will there be a book 7? I hope so.
