review 1: Probably a 2.5. Very meh for me. I feel as though, in this character-driven plot, the only character who stayed true to who she was supposed to be was Lavinia/Jennifer. I understand that Very needed to change in some ways...but I kinda liked her better before rehab. A part of me was rooting for her to run off, explore the world, and get married by Liberace. But I do also like her romantic ending, so who knows. And Bryan is a total douchebag, and that makes me sad that he wound up like that.
review 2: My wife is a nanny. The woman my wife used to nanny for got advanced copies of all kinds of books like Very LeFreak. One night after putting the little boy she was watching to sleep, she realized she didn't have her book on her, so she perused the coffee table and
... morepicked this book up. Once my wife finished it she passed it on to me to read while I was in the hospital. I find it hilarious that my wife who can never seem to really let go of her cell was the person to recommend a book to me about a girl who is practically drowning in her addiction to current technology. I shouldn't say current since these electronics are updated almost daily it seems. I don't have an addiction to my phone...but set a laptop in front of me and I will be entertained for hours! LOL! Like any addiction, Very uses her addiction to avoid facing her past and her true feelings. As a 40 year old reading this book a lot of things that happen are pretty expected and the message of the author is overly obvious...but wouldn't be that way necessarily to someone of the proper age in the intended audience. However, how Very responds to some of her issues is not what you would expect. I don't like to give away a lot of a book in a review so I will say that I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book and how much it engaged me although I am not it's intended audience. Needless to say, because of who I am and what group I represent...I am a bit biased when I say I love how the book ended. I did adore the ending though and not just for my obvious personal reasons. less

This would have gotten three stars if I didn't expect so much better from Cohn.

More like 3.5 stars. This book didn't really make sense to me.
