2017 Reading Challenge: 10 Books I Read

This year as part of my reading challenge I read 10 books focused on nonfiction books, here’s what I learned from my favorite ones!

Thinking, Fast and Slow – Our brains are not as perfect as we think, they make a lot of decisions influenced by the environment without us noticing. This is because our brain is trying to save us time and energy. We might think that the choices we make come from our own decisions yet they are a stimulus of different factors that surround us.

Elon Musk: Inventing the Future – If I was a fan girl of Steve Jobs, I am completely fan girl of Elon Musk. For sure read his bio. I am especially impressed by his accelerated learning strategy.

We Should All Be Feminists – This book is simply a must read, there is a problem in our society and it concerns everyone.

Nudge: Improving Decision About Health Wealth and Happiness – I recommend to read first Thinking, Fast and Slow and then Nudge. Very easy reading, talks about the biases and heuristics in our brain, and how to design better environments to help our brain avoid these biases.

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind – This book explains the reasoning behind why we live the way we live today. Go read this book right now.

Narconomics: How to Run a Drug Cartel – The strategy to solve our issue with drug cartels should no longer be focused on using force and militarization. Organized crime is no longer a small gang selling drugs, they are full-blown businesses. As such, our strategy should be to target them with a smarter business strategy.

Have you read any of these books? Are you planning on reading them? I want to hear your opinions!
