My Review: I really enjoyed this book. I have to say I think part of the reason I decided to buy it recently is because of the cover. It’s such a beautiful picture and it draws you in.
Every time I’ve tried describing this I’ve had a bit of trouble but I’m going to do my best. It’s about so many different characters but it starts off with Pasquale, an inn keeper, who never has any visitors at his hotel when all of a sudden an American actress ends up staying at his hotel. She is so beautiful Pasquale is blown away by her. After this day everything changes.
This story has a lot of different character perspectives but all are important in telling the story. It goes back and forth with the past and future and it ends up working really nicely. The way the author writes each chapter it leaves you wanting to know more about each character but you just have to keep reading and wait to find out.
I really enjoyed the detail Jess Walter writes. It’s very descriptive and made me want to drop everything I was doing and travel this small town in Italy. I’m not sure if it’s a real place but it sounded absolutely gorgeous. This book was different from the books I usually read but like I said before I was drawn in by the beautiful cover.
