Carpet, downpipes and privacy screening

Very exciting to see progress on the block this week. The carpets and underlay have gone in (see what we selected here) and we are happy with how it looks so far through the windows. Haven’t seen it from inside the house yet. We have carpeted the office, formal lounge room, theatre room and upstairs bedrooms. The most exciting part of this is that we were able to grab a scrap of carpet to take with us for when we go furniture shopping. It has been over 18 months since we last saw the carpet colour at our colour selection appointment at World fo Style.

This pic was taken through double glazed sliding door so not very clear. Looks like they need to vacuum.

Majority of our downpipes were finally installed this week. Until now most of the water has been pouring onto the ground around the site which is an issue that was raised by our independent inspector.

The upstairs terrace had the privacy screen added this week. This was one of the requirements stipulated by the council before we were given our building permit. It is only on one side of the terrace facing the neighbours. There was a small range of colours to choose from and we chose Silver Gum to keep with our Hamptons theme. Read more about that here.

And we were pleased to see that the skip bin which has been out the front for the entire build has finally been removed. We hope this is a sign that we are close to the finish line.

Finally the skip bin has been removed. Garage door was left open so this doesn’t show the full impact of the facade. The moulding around the top and bottom of the porch pillars still needs to be painted white. Also some moulding missing from bottom right window.

Edited to add: here are some pics of the carpet sample in the morning light. Some in shade and some in direct sun.
