review 1: Another winning story from Tosca Lee! Truely enjoyable and one step away from believable. The Queen remains an enigmatic Queen in her dealings with her own court as well as within Solomons. I enjoyed the Queens inner dialog that shows her vulnerability in one second and after dealing with her womanly thoughts transforms herself back into Queen mode. There were some reviewers who immediately did research and tried to rip the story apart but that's just it it's a story written by one of the best writers that I've had the pleasure of reading. Another well thought out character study by an incredible writer who gives you the absolute essence of what she wants to portray about whomever it is she's into at the time a book is written. Tosca Lee knows how to get to the heart of th... moree story she is telling and that is the way this story begins and ends. Thank you!
review 2: This is a book that any fan of Solomon or the tenth century BC. The history is accurate, and what was not mentioned in the Bible, although fiction, is also based on facts. What I really enjoy about these types of books (religious fiction) is that they add to the Bible. I have read the Bible, but I did not know all the facts that the author does. She has done so much research and it shows in her description of the people, clothes. and common practices. This book includes how women of that time were treated (including rape, etc). It was interesting to read about Sheba and how she rose to the throne. This is a great religious fiction novel. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own. less
