Design: Must-Have Room Decor (From Target)

Did you just move into a new apartment (or college dorm) and have no idea what to decorate your room(s) with? Well first off, Target is always the best place to look. I am obsessed with the brand Threshold, and Target’s new home decor brand Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. Both of these brands have a simple and modern look to them, but still make your room/home feel warm and comfy. These aren’t the only home decor brands that Target features, there are other great ones such as Project 62 and Room Essentials. So for those of you who have no idea what to do with your space, here’s a list of a few things I would include in mine

1. Candles.

Who doesn’t love candles? For the scent, you want to stick with something that you love (for me, that’s any vanilla scent!) But what really matters are the candle holders. The candle holder is what adds decoration to the room. Here are a few of my favorites:

Etched Glass Votive Candle Set – Threshold

Price: $5.24 (for the whole set!)

I like these holders because they are small, so they fit anywhere in any room, and they are the perfect size for tea light candles!

Metal Lantern Small Black – Project 62

Price: $17.99

This holder is really interesting to me because it is so simple and clean looking. I love how you are still able to see the whole candle through the glass, but it still gives extra decoration to the room!

Sparkling Polyhedron Triple Candle Holder Gold – Dayna

Price: $31.99 (for all three!)

I really love this set because it has a different, geometric type look. I feel like it still goes along with the style of the previous holder, but it changes it up a little bit!

2. Clocks.

Anywhere you go these days you will most likely see some type of decorative wall clock. They add a sophisticated look to any room, and are great fillers if you need something to fill up a blank space. Personally, I like to stick to the modern/contemporary style because I feel like it looks more simple and clean. Here’s a few I would choose:

Raised Marker 13″ Wall Clock White/Brass – Project 62

Price: $19.99

I love this clock because personally I favor roman numerals over regular numbers on a decorative clock. Also, the gold rim and the solid white middle make it look super simple!

Decorative Wall Clock Gold/Black – Threshold

Price: $29.99

My favorite part about this clock is how it shows only the outline of the numerals. I also like the black and gold color together, it makes the clock look classic!

Decorative Wall Clock Black/Brass – Project 62

Price: $14.99

This clock is very similar to the first one I pictured, but I really like how there are no numbers or numerals on it at all. Just having the lines makes the clock look very classy!

3. Mirrors.

Mirrors basically have the same purpose as the clocks, but obviously they are a little more useful. In my opinion, mirrors that are oddly shaped (or any other shape than rectangular) are better because then they benefit as wall art as well as a mirror. Some examples like that are:

Sunburst Flower Decorative Wall Mirror – Safavieh

Price: $55.99

This mirror is interesting because it has a unique design around the actual mirror, so it works more as a piece of wall art, featuring a mirror!

Metal Wall Mirror – Gold

Price: $66.00

I like this mirror because of the color and the design. It is very simple and it will most likely go with any color scheme!

Triangle Mirror Walnut 3pk. – Project 62

Price: $24.99

This is a completely different style mirror than the last two, and it is unique because it comes in a pack of three so you can place them all together or all in separate locations!

4. Wall Art.

Be You Framed Canvas – Threshold

Price: $24.99

This is one of my favorite pieces of wall art because I love the quote that is on it. Quotes and sayings make the best type of wall art, in my opinion.

Framed Watercolor Blue Abstracts – Project 62

Price: $64.99

This type of wall art is really good for adding a little bit of color into any room. I love this one specifically because I think that blues and grays are really good accent colors.

Abstract Black and White Embellished Canvas – Threshold

Price: $59.99

Wall art like this is good if you are looking for a simple, neutral colored artwork for your wall decor. This would be something that I would do for my wall currently.

Any local Target, or even online, will carry all of these items! They are all just my personal favorites, there are so many more to choose from.
