review 1: I'll leave it at this- all of Courtney Summers' books are good. She writes on such dark topics, but she writes them with such passion and intensity so that you sense the gravity of the situation and the pain, but don't just completely go away from the novel completely depressed. You aren't happy to lucky but it isn't like Pretty Girl 13 where the gravity of it all hurts so much you can't move for hours later because your mind is so flustered. Personally I liked the novel, but the lack of an ending or character progression didn't help the novel and it didn't make me love it. There are decimate things in this novel that could have been done better, but for the most part- overall- I believe this was a well written novel. But this is my least favorite of all her novels because... more there is no lesson- you don't walk away from this novel thinking much of it because there is no lesson no major progression. It's just a story that could have been packed full of tons of meaning and lessons and meant everything, but I didn't get that from the novel, and that really disappoints me. But as I have said over all this was a good novel, it will just never be great.
review 2: I'm honestly a bit surprised so many people love this book. I have lost people before, and I understand that everyone's grief takes different forms, and you can't judge someone on how they grieve, but that being said....I did not enjoy this book. I found the characters to be mostly unlikeable (Culler was just creepy) with Milo being the sole exception. This is Not a Test is still my favourite of her books, and I will still check out her upcoming titles. Spoiler Alert added for those who don't yet know that Culler is a big creeper. less

This book gave no definite resolution which was nice since reality is as vague.
