“DILIMAN AFTER DARK”
This was the name of the ghost walk event we went arranged by a group of paranormal experts. Ghost stories fascinates me, it would spook me a little but who wouldn’t be curious. UP Diliman is one of the oldest campus in the country and with that comes the stories no matter how crazy or spooky those stories might be, plus who could be a better story teller than those who can see and feel those others can’t.
The Oblation Curse
It is said UP Student who takes their photo there will fail or will not graduate on time, no idea why though. And when you take photos you can see orbs floating above the statue (though I didn’t capture any)
Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater
The theater, located on the second floor of Palma Hall, is known for its resident ghost named “Marisa”. Her story was that she was the star of the show but eventually new students came and new stars emerged, out of insecurities and jealousies she hanged herself onstage, they say if you call upon her she might just show up or you can hear her joining in the chorus.
Benitez Hall
This one is said to be haunted as it served as a Japanese camp during the war, one popular story was it was raining hard and a professor of the college was forced to stay overnight, because of the strong rains. She asked the guard for permission to let her stay until the rain stops. The guard let her and brought her to a room and told her not to open the door until he comes back. Later that night, she heard some footsteps outside and she decided to peep through a hole in the door. However, she saw nothing but red. When the guard came back, she asked about the ghost, and the guard confirmed that there is a ghost who walks at night dressed in white with blood red eyes.
Path walk Between Palma Hall and Melchor Hall
These two building can be confusing as they look the same and I think they already closed that path or just at a certain time, the story was there was a guy who was passing by and saw a girl being taken, so he did what is right saved the girl but unfortunately ended up being killed, they said that the guy can still be seen standing at the area, that it looks like it was guarding the place.
UP Sunken Garden
I don’t remember the details but they said that at night if you pass by the sunken garden a headless guy or something will run after you.
Doppelgänger Guard
There was a street, that is said a guard will call you and detain you at a room, but after a few minutes no one will come back. As we were passing the street we could smell the scent of flowers, another story was there’s a lady walking around the area, I forgot what they said, if you should acknowledge her or just ignore her.
The last building, I forgot what it is, they said that ghosts from the war era has been spotted lurking in the building.
