One of the first authors I remember seeing around the house was Stephen King. King has made a career most authors dream of despite his own struggles with addiction. He still churns out books that, depending on who you talk to, may or may not live up to his classics. The most popular work of his at the moment is:

Benjamin Percy
Percy is from Oregon and his writing has a distinct feel of the pacific northwest. He’s smooth, creative, dark and haunting. His worlds are easy to enter and hard to leave. At the moment I’m reading his newest release:
