Jewelry Subscription Service “Rocksbox” + Try Your First Month for Free!

If you’ve been a reader of mine for a while, you’ve probably noticed that I am a big fan of subscription services. I am currently subscribed to ipsy and Sephora Play! and have written a “Battle of the Beauty Subscription Boxes” talking about which beauty service is best (comparing Birchbox as well) and have also started a new series about my clothing subscription services with my “All About ShoeDazzle” post. Today, I’ll be talking about a subscription service that doesn’t fit either the clothing or the beauty category but sits in a category all by itself – jewelry.

Some of you may have seen advertisements for Rocksbox online, whether it’s Instagram or Pinterest, or maybe have heard about it by word of mouth. I’ve been seeing bloggers I follow on Instagram talking about this service and decided it was time to try it out for myself. So today, I will be sharing my review of Rocksbox as well as sharing how you can try your first month of the service for free! So let’s get into it…

What is Rocksbox?

Rocksbox is a subscription service for jewelry, but it’s not your typical subscription service where you get to keep all the products sent to you. You are technically periodically renting the jewelry that you are sent. If you like an item and want to keep it, you are free to do so. Your $21/month fee goes towards your purchase of the item. The jewelry that gets sent to you can be from 30+ different designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, House of Harlow, Ava Rose and many more. You get 3 pieces sent to you at one time. The pieces come in a resealable envelope with a pre-paid shipping label for you to use when you want to exchange your set for 3 new pieces.

Do you only get 3 pieces per month?

No! My favorite thing about Rocksbox is that you can exchange your pieces as little or as often as you’d like. My first set, I sent back after using it for one week and the day after my first set was in my mailbox to go back out to Rocksbox, my new set was already in route to me. This most recent set I received, I kept for a little longer as I was waiting for a better occasion to wear one of the pieces. I also kept a piece from my most recent set because it was a gorgeous choker-esque gold necklace that goes with so many outfits and so many occasions and is perfect on tan summer skin. You also don’t get charged extra for sending your items back often. You just pay that $21/month fee and exchange your items as often as you’d like.

How do they know what kind of jewelry to send you?

When you first sign up for Rocksbox, you fill out a survey about your jewelry preferences. This survey includes questions such as do you prefer silver, gold or both? Do you like dainty pieces, bold statement necklaces, classic pieces or something more on the unique side? After you fill out this survey, you also get to write to the stylist about what you want to get out of Rocksbox and what kind of pieces you typically like to wear. After that comes the fun part – making your wish list. You get to look through pages of jewelry and mark the ones you like most for your wishlist. Your wishlist is what the stylist uses to pick pieces that get sent to you. So far, I’ve only received items that I ranked on that list.

After you’ve had your pieces and are ready to send them back, it’s time to leave some feedback about your pieces. You will answer how you felt about each item and leave some feedback for your stylist about why you liked what you liked and didn’t and also what you would like to see in future boxes.

Want to try it out?

Rocksbox was awesome enough to offer a free month of the subscription for my subscribers with the promo code “styleprnxoxo”. Let me know if you’ll be trying this out and what you’re hoping to get out of the subscription! I highly recommend is as I’ve been absolutely loving receiving different types of jewelry and making myself step out of my “accessory” comfort zone and trying new things out. Also, let me know if you have any questions about the service!

As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, Pinterest and like my Facebook page!
