KAJAKI. THE TRUE STORY
Review: A British war film, based on events that took place in Helmand Province in Afghanistan, 2006. British soldiers inadvertently wandered into a minefield which could cost them their leg or their life.
Director: Paul Katis
Actors: David Elliot, Mark Stanley, Scott Kyle and Benjamin O’Mahony
Year: 2014
Genre: Action, Adventure, Biography, Drama, Thriller and War
Conclusion: 3/5
This is Paul Katis’ debut feature. I do like it how the actors are unknown. One thing I was quite shocked about was that how disorganised the British troops were. They had no idea really what was going on or what there main plan was. It is a film about bravery, courage, heroism and the ultimate sacrifice. In this it didn’t actually cross my mind once that these men were acting – they were totally believable. I thought of it as the real thing. It is very grim and very tense. You wouldn’t call it a relaxing film to watch by a long way.
