review 1: Two story lines running in unison, both very compelling. Arlen is learning to use his abilities that are available after the last fight with the mind demon. Jadir is learning to use the tools he has to defend his city. Things are Definitely coming to a head and the book ended with quite a cliff hanger. Both of the main characters have interesting women in their shadow helping them and playing their own games. Very enjoyable.
review 2: Um, what happened?? I LOVED the first two books and this one....well meh! The story got bogged down in the crappy sex. The beginning moved along with the end of the second book and then ...meh. Nothing moved along till the last chapter or so and then MASSIVE cliff hanger. It appears Mr. Brett has figured out the money spinning way... more of writing novels add sex and finish on a cliffhanger - Days of Our Lives Style :) less
