M&M Cookies

Happy New Year everyone!

One of my New Years resolutions is to bake more, blog more and vlog more. I use to love vlogging in high school  because I loved capturing memories and blogging was also nice too because I got to write about my life and share my baking recipes and how to’s.  For the Christmas season I was going to do baking blogs but I can’t seem to find my camera battery at the moment and that season was very busy. But today I decided to use my iphone and no one was around so I was less shy to vlog. Sorry about the terrible quality, shaking, and angles I’ll get better once I find my camera or I’ll get a tripod or something but for now I’m gonna use my iphone as much as I can because my battery also sucks. So now lets get into the M&M cookie post I will leave a link below to my video once its up. I hope everyone is well and having a happy and healthy new year!

For the last couple days now my boyfriend has been begging me to make him M&M cookies since he ate all the Christmas cookies. He got M&Ms for Christmas so I made more cookies and figured I’d also blog/vlog making cookies. I got a new Cookie recipe book for Christmas so prepare for a lot more cookie post and vlogs (also other bake goodies!)

First what you will need is:

1 Cup of Shortening (or butter)

1 Cup of Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup of Sugar

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

2 Eggs

2 1/4 Cup of Flour

1 tsp Baking Soda

1tsp Salt

1 1/2 Cup of Candy M&Ms

First I creamed shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla together. (only in the video I kinda messed up and almost forgot the sugar but I added it in after the shortening, eggs, and vanilla and that was still okay lol) Make sure to scrape the bowl after mixing just to make sure everything is mixed together.

After that was all creamed together I mixed the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Then I slowly added the dry ingredients to the mixture I already had. (slowly adding the flour mixture helps the flour not poof everyone onto you.) After, mixing the flour mixture in I scraped the side of the bowl one more time to make sure everything was mixed together.

Then, using a rubber spatular I added the M&Ms in and mixed it in the cookie dough that way the M&Ms wouldn’t break.  I also added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips because I had chocolate chips left over from something else but you don’t have to add them if you don’t want to.

To get the cookies onto the baking sheets that I linden with partchment paper so the cookies wouldn’t stick I used a 1tbs and sprayed it with cookie spray so the cookie dough wouldn’t stick and ploppped it onto the cookie sheet and into the oven to bake for 10-12mins on 375.
