Media has probably the biggest influence in the way we act, dress, eat, think, etc. Think about how when you see a movie, and you like a character, you think he is cool, you come out of the movie and you want to be like him, you want to dress like him, do the sport he does, just because your mind is telling you that he is someone cool, and you create some kind of crush on him. This also happens with A lot of other things that we see on the internet.
Connecting with media.Every person on earth has now the opportunity of somehow connecting with media. Young kids watch TV, teenagers and social media, etc. People of all ages can be influenced by media this days, because it is so easy to access it. And the content that we see in it becomes an addiction. Since people like what they see then they want to act like it, and this can have positive and negative effects.
Positive Influence. There are very positive aspects that we can get out of what we see in TV, internet, etc. Im sure that almost everyone has once seen an attractive guy or woman, with a good body, and wants to be like him, so the person sets up his mind with this image of the guy or girl and does what it takes to have a body like that, this can also happen with business, school, etc. Media can also be very helpful, when it comes to research, or working on something in the internet, but at the same time makes us lazy, from writing or looking up information in a book.
– Courtesy of Pexels – Negative Influence. The article Media Influences in Young Peoples Lives, says that children and young people enjoy so much TV, movies, music, video games, and the internet. This have a profound influence on their views of themselves and the world around them. Media offers a lot of opportunities to learn and to entertain, but it is also linked to health concerns such as aggressive behavior, substance abuse, bad body image, sexual behavior and media dependency. Being so easy to access it can become addictive and have bad consequences do to the actions that people can do by copying what they see in media.
Revealing Yourself.Like the book “Everybody Lies” by Seth Stephens – Davidowitz says, the internet reveals who you are. People tend to search and navigate through the internet looking at stuff that demonstrate who you are and what you are interested in. The internet is getting huge and its part of us, people have to be careful and smart about it because when you go on the web everything stays there. People have to stop depending so much on what they see and get influenced by, people have to be authentic, and original. The web can change who you are, you have to be smart and careful.
