My first pair of demi-pointe shoes

So excited to get a pair of demi-pointe shoes ready for pre-pointe work next year.

I forgot to take a photo of them when they were brand new. I spent a long time sewing the elastic and ribbons on them and then I put them on to test them out.

I’m trying to wear them every one or two days to get my feet used to them. It felt so weird, at first, having my foot feel so compressed in the box. But as I keep doing plies and tendus, etc. each day, they’re becoming more comfortable.

I also got a new pair of ballet flats for the year.

So I’m all set up for 2018 with my shoes. Yay!

And I got a theraband. Ready to strengthen my feet each day and do foot exercises as much as I can next year.

I absolutely love the look of the demi-pointe shoes. They look just like pointe shoes so that makes me so excited that I actually get to own, wear and work with a pair.

The only difference between a demi-pointe shoe and pointe shoe (as far as I’m aware) is that the pointe shoe has a shank. But the leather sole of the demi-pointe shoe helps with strengthening the feet in preparation for pointe shoes.
