november & december swoon

all the things i’ve been swooning over this past november and december.

Trying to stay in a dreamy state of mind. Reminding myself to try to log off every once in awhile and take photos of everything around me, to document my life right now for the future. It gets hard though, dealing with stress, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. It’s hard to stay in a good mood, because of the stresses from school. It seems like I have so much work to do and I feel myself being pulled in and out of inspiration.

These two months have been very stressful/weird, but they have been good ones too. I’ve been in some weird moods, but I’ve been happy, too. I’ve caught myself in certain moments, mid-laugh or mid-hug, just loving the moment I am in and wanting to remember it forever.

These are the things that I’ve been swooning over this past November and December.

TAKING PHOTOS // I have always wanted to take more photos, but I never really did. Lately, I’ve started to carry around a camera borrowed from family, and snap pictures of anything beautiful, anything I want to remember. Looking back through the pictures I’ve taken makes me proud, and it makes me feel inspired. I want to continue to take more photos, to use towards the blog or just to have for myself.

GLASSES // I got glasses around the end of October, and I have been loving them so much throughout these months. I need them for distance, especially when I am driving, and wear them all the time. I honestly love them so much! I have noticed a decrease in the amount of headaches I am experiencing and my vision is so much more clear. If your eyes feel like they’re struggling or straining or you are getting headaches, please go get them checked.

DISPOSABLE DIARY BY SEA FOAMING // Whoa. That’s all I can say. A collection of photos of friends on a cheap disposable film camera, yet they all turned out beautiful and dreamy. I love the stories that go along with the photos, they make me feel like I know the friends pictured and I have been there for the whole ride. So great and inspiring. I’ve been taking more pictures, documenting everything, after seeing this.

SUPPORT // The past two months have been filled with so much support from my loved ones. I have been struggling with how I perceive myself and anxiety over my body image, my schoolwork, and other things along these lines, but I have had a great support system to get me through it.

GLOSSIER // I got my first items from Glossier for Christmas, and I can finally say that I am in love. I got the Wowder and Balm Dotcom in Rose, and each product is so perfect. The Balm Dotcom keeps my lips moist for a really long time, and has a pretty pink tint. The Wowder gives my skin a glowy look, and stays on forever. The packaging of the products was absolutely adorable also, and it even came with a pink makeup bag, a Glossier You perfume sample, and stickers! I’m definitely a fan and already planning my next purchase.

DENIM SKIRT // My mom bought a denim skirt from a consignment store when she was probably 20 or so, and lately she found it in her closet and gave it to me. I’ve completely fallen in love. It’s my new favorite piece in my closet, and it makes me feel a little dressed up, compared to my usual jeans and t-shirt.

JOURNALING // I love journaling, and talk about it literally every swoon post. I just love being able to write my thoughts down on paper, and feel my mind emptying with each word written. Sometimes, my mind gets so full with thoughts that it can be overwhelming. By writing things down, like ideas, thoughts, or lists, I am able to clear my mind a little bit.

GETAWAYS // Lately, more and more, I’ve felt the need to getaway. To escape from the hometown that I have been in for soo long, and just see something else. I treasure each “getaway” I get, even if it is only an hour or so away.

DREAMCATCHER NECKLACE // For Christmas my boyfriend got me a dreamcatcher necklace, and I love it so much. It has the Aries zodiac symbol in the middle, and is just so pretty. It’s even funnier because after he had ordered the necklace (without me knowing of course) we walked into this hippie store and there were dreamcatchers lining the walls. I stared at them in awe and stated how much I loved dreamcatchers, not even knowing I would have a beautiful dreamcatcher necklace soon.
