“Frankie kisses me again. His mouth tastes of chocolate, even after all the making out.”

In a word: Read the thing.

The Summary: (from Goodreads) Frankie Faraday is a promising young salesperson at Mason’s Emporium. Bill Mason is his boss, the son of the store’s founder, and the object of Frankie’s long-suffering, deeply devoted crush. Bill is steady and sober; Frankie is frivolous and flaky. Or so they seem to each other, until the night of the annual inventory, when they’re trapped together in the Seasonal Gifts storeroom, with nothing but candy and peppermint schnapps to sustain them until they’re rescued. And then the real truths—and something definitely more intimate—emerge!

  • I just wanna say that there were less drunken shenanigans than I was expecting. Also less peppermint schnapps. Also I’m not entirely sure that anyone actually got drunk, maybe Frankie got a little tipsy. Nothing about that was made all that clear, to be honest.

  • Actually, there weren’t really any drunken shenanigans at all. Though if there were the story probably would’ve ended up less sweet and more slap-sticky. Either way would’ve been entertaining, I guess, just with different tones.

  • Nonetheless, this was a cute little story about two guys, who are secretly crushing on each other, accidentally getting locked in a closet and sharing with each other and getting closer to each other. With making out and dick touching, as you do.

  • The entire situation is told from alternating first-person narration by both Frankie and Bill, a retail store employee and his boss, who accidentally get stuck in an inventory closet at closing time. I liked the alternating point of view because it allowed us to get everyone’s emotions about the whole situation in real time in a way that didn’t make the story any longer than it had to be.

  • The situation is pretty funny, but the story itself isn’t really big on laughs. Once Bill and Frankie get settled somewhat comfortably in their situation they worry less about getting out and start focusing more on getting to know each other better.

  • It was sweet, when all was said and done. It’s a cute getting together story with a few laughs and some sexytimes.

  • With booze and crispy chocolate Santas.
