review 1: I didn't love the previous entry in the series, but this book restored my love for the it. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing, the tone of the book was a bit lighter than the previous book's tone, and the characters, as always, were great. If you were disappointed with book 4, I would definitely give book 5 a chance. I hope Raybourn will publish some more full Julia novels instead of just the novellas...
review 2: I do love this series and the cast of characters. You get to meet a few more of Brisbane's Gypsy kin this entry and that was nice. The Marches are more bit players in terms of character development here despite the plot revolving around one of them. The mystery itself was a bit too reliant on unseen clues and a bit lacking. That said... more I am hoping that the books continue to be released in books rather than e published. less
