HE’S NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING…

Explosive ordinance disposal specialist Chase Fisk never breaks a sweat defusing even the most complicated of explosives. So when a homicidal maniac threatens to set off military-grade IEDs during Nashville’s largest music festival, Chase is the man to take him down. But with the reappearance of a woman he thought was long dead, everything he thought he knew is blown away.

EXCEPT LOSING HER AGAIN.

FBI operative Vivien Montgomery is an enigma to everyone around her. So when a deadly threat lands her in Nashville and paired up with the only man she’s ever loved, she isn’t looking forward to an emotional reunion. She’s only here to get the job done and get out. But when the madman behind the chaos targets her for death, the one man she left behind might be the only person she can count on to save her life…

Caisey Quinn delivers an explosive, action-packed second chance romance with Live Wire, the first novel in her Nashville’s Finest series. After meeting Chase and Vivien in the prequel novella Lit Fuse, I was addicted. I knew I needed more of this badass couple and Caisey Quinn definitely didn’t disappoint. Sizzling, heart pounding, and full of feels, Live Wire was everything I’d hoped it would be and so much more. From their intensely emotional reunion to the delightfully satisfying conclusion, this story kept me utterly enthralled. Chase and Vivien’s sparkling chemistry was more potent than ever, compounded by their time spent apart and further intensified by their inexplicable emotional connection. I absolutely adored the push and pull between this duo, easily caught up in their heady tension and suggestive banter. Caisey Quinn made sure the reader felt every raw and gripping emotion along Chase and Vivien’s journey and by the time their story came to a close, I was nowhere near ready to let this memorable couple go.

“He had two purposes in life. That much was clear now. Defusing explosives and loving her.”

I adored getting to know Vivien better in this novel. Caisey Quinn has a talent for writing strong, confident females that are easy to root for while also ensuring they posses a genuine vulnerability that keeps them relatable and Vivien was a prime example. She was my favorite kind of heroine – the perfect mix of intelligence, sass and kindness. Vivien’s ability to recognize her mistakes and willingness to beg forgiveness coupled with her refusal to give up on Chase and their once in a lifetime connection made it impossible not to love her and cheer her on. Caisey Quinn also did an excellent job at putting the pieces of this complex woman together, revealing her tragic past and allowing readers to make peace with the decisions she had made that tore her and Chase apart to begin with. I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing Vivien in an entirely new light. Her heartache was authentic and her determination fierce – a potent combination that gave me no choice but to invest in this heroine.

“I have been the furthest thing from fine. I’ve been trying to pretend to live when I’ve been dead inside since the day I thought I lost you.”

It came as no surprise that Chase continued to be utterly swoon-worthy. I was already so in love with his beautiful heart and willingness to risk everything for Vivien in Lit Fuse. I didn’t expect for my own heart to break so much for Chase in Live Wire, but Caisey Quinn portrayed his pain at losing Vivien and the betrayal of finding out he’d been lied to so boldly that I couldn’t help but have a visceral reaction to his story. Sure, there were times in this book where he was a total jerk and I just wanted to slap him, but I also understood how deeply he felt and how conflicted he must have been at the situation Vivien presented. While I definitely would have liked to learn more about Chase’s past, he had plenty of emotional turmoil to sort through in this story and how he handled all of it was definitely revealing of his character. Chase made me melt with his suggestive flirtations, moments of emotional vulnerability, and dizzying sweetness. This hero was definitely book boyfriend material and one I won’t forget any time soon.

“Their past was messy and complicated but she vowed then and there to keep their future free of unspoken words and hurt feelings. No more secrets and no more lies.”

One of the things I loved about Chase and Vivien’s story was their equal footing throughout the novel. Both members of law enforcement, they were a powerhouse of strength and intelligence that kept me absolutely riveted. I loved the teamwork this duo exhibited and how easily they fit together. Their shared protectiveness made for one heck of a captivating adventure as they tried to balance their careers and relationship in the wake of all the pulse pounding action. Caisey Quinn had me on the edge of my seat, anxious to find out how this thrilling storyline would play out and loving every minute of Chase and Vivien’s quest to break the case. Surrounded by a colorful cast of secondary characters, I found this fictional world easy to lose myself in and even easier to love. I am so ready for more of Luke, Annalise, Aiden and the rest of the gang. I just know we’re in for another wild ride with the rest of this series. Live Wire demonstrates incredible growth in Caisey Quinn’s writing. This author’s talent for story building, character development and forging emotional connections with the reader continuously blew me away. I devoured Chase and Vivien’s story, loving every moment of this addictive, thrilling and dangerously romantic novel.
