REVIEW: Spirit Bound

This my review of Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead, the fifth book in the Vampire Academy Series.

REVIEW: SPIRIT BOUND

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

COVER/TITLE. After reviewing the first four books, I feel like I can safely refer to previous reviews when I say I like the new cover designs and that each of the books are titled relevantly but in a vague way.

PLOT. I feel like a lot of things happened in this book, but that is a compliment – whereas some other books in the series seemed to drag on and on with all the action packed into the last possible minute, Spirit Bound was much more naturally paced. There were moments of climax and moments slightly slower, but all the events felt smoothly woven together. I read this book in about three days, reading for an hour each night – it was insane, the fastest I’ve finished a book in some time. Suffice to say, I really enjoyed it!

CHARACTERS. The characters continue to frustrate me, but in a good way. Without giving too much away, Lisa in particular seems childish in comparison to Rose – but I suppose that is the point of this book. Rose has been through so much and continues to be put through things no one else her age has experienced.

OVERALL. I’m giving this book a 4.5* – I really enjoyed it and I’m super excited for the next and last book in the series, Last Sacrifice!
