Is this the makeover of a lifetime?

Ambitious fashionista Perry Goodwood lands the project of his dreams—track down a celebrity family’s missing brother in the Scottish Highlands and bring him back to London for a TV reality show. But first he must transform the rugged loner into a glamorous sophisticate.

Greg Ventura has no use for high fashion. He lives on the isolated island of North Uist to escape the reminder that he’s nowhere near as handsome as his gorgeous brothers and avoid the painful childhood memories of being bullied.

Greg wants nothing to do with city life, and Perry’s never been outside London. When Perry is stranded on North Uist, this conflict seems insurmountable. But Greg is captivated by the vivacious Perry, and Perry by both the island and his host. However, Perry’s one heartfelt wish remains: that ugly duckling Greg fulfill his potential as a swan.

4.5 Stars

There was something incredibly special about this book for me, I absolutely fell in love with Perry and Greg and their amazing setting in Scotland. I loved the idea of the ugly duckling story and I think Clare London really delivers with this fun, sweet read!

Greg and Perry do not seem like they’d ever be friends, let alone of a love match but their journey together proves they are just perfect for each other! Greg comes from a beautiful family, all of his brothers are gorgeous and famous and in order to land a reality show deal they need Greg to be a part of the family again. Perry is given the task of giving Greg the makeover of a lifetime, but he has to leave posh London and head to Scotland for this job. It’s something neither man really wants and they certainly do not get off to a good start but as they get to know each other, they discover something very special.

I really did adore both of these men, they are both so good and sweet and just loveable – even though Greg doesn’t believe it at all! I did feel for him, he grew up with his jerk brothers calling him names and making him feel less than because he didn’t have their model good looks. He’s carried that with him all of his life, but Perry won’t stand for it and I loved his determination to show Greg how great he really is.

I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading, it was fun and sweet and touching and I think Clare London has done a great job bringing their story full circle. There are fantastic supporting characters in this story that add to this story as well. This story really had it all, it made me smile, it made me swoon and at times it made my heart hurt a little but in the end, I was left so very happy!

Author Bio

Clare London took her pen name from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home, she juggles her writing with her other day job as an accountant.

She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with award-winning novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic, and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter three stage and plenty of other projects in mind… she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home.
