eBooks
Nemesis / Brendan Reichs / Seizure / Kathy & Brendan Reichs / Sleeping Giants / Sylvain Neuvel / Zone One / Colson Whitehead / The Wonder / Emma Donoghue / The Handmaid’s Tale / Margaret Atwood
When Nemesis came out people were really excited on Twitter so I put it on hold. It just ended up in the bookshelf so I can’t wait to see what it is about. I requested Seizure because I read the first book in this YA series and was curious to see how it gets on. The Virals series is something that I don’t really care to find out what happens next but kind of do at the same time. Sleeping Giants FINALLY made it’s way into my hands this week. I am 50% of the way through and loving it so far. I love science and I love the fact that it is told through interviews with some high-up government dude. Zone One I am trying to get into but it is a very dense book. If you pick it up thinking that you are going to be getting a great zombie novel with lots of action than this isn’t for you. The writing is very well done and you can tell that he is a Harvard graduate. I may return this and pick it up at a time where I can appreciate it more. The Wonder was a happy surprise to see on my virtual shelf. A friend of mine from school who happens to also love historical fictions recommended this one so I had to pick it up. I hope it’s good. I don’t really know much about it other than that it’s historical fiction. Lastly, The Handmaid’s Tale appeared in my bookshelf last night. I forgot I had requested it it was so long ago. Funnily enough, we were on the last episode of the TV show last night. I’m curious to see if the adaptation is like the book.

Between You and Me / Lynn Turner
Lynn approached me through a mutual friend to see if I wanted to read an early copy of her book and post a review. I can’t wait to dive into it. Here’s the synopsis:
Love at first sight strikes Seattle scientist Finnegan Kane at the worst possible moment, paralyzing him as he’s pitching his cutting-edge idea to powerful New York venture capitalist Emanuela Monroe…
Finn survived the crash that killed his parents when he was sixteen. Twenty years later, his smart devices are about to redefine what it means to be disabled.
Emanuela makes dreams come true for a living, but still longs to fulfill her own. Despite Finn’s stunning secret, she thinks his idea might be worth the risk…and he’s determined to show her that he is, too.
Interesting right?! It comes out September 20th.
