Ted Bundy attacks women at Florida State University

The first attack was on the sorority house of Chi Omega. Margaret Bowman (21) was bludgeoned with a piece of firewood as she slept then garroted with a nylon stocking. Lisa Levy (20) was beaten, strangled, raped and sodomized with a hair spray bottle, her nipple torn, and her buttock bitten deeply. Kathy Kleiner’s jaw was broken and her shoulder deeply cut. Karen Chandler’s jaw was also broken, had teeth knocked out, received a concussion, and had her finger crushed. Bowman and Levy died from their attacks while Kleiner and Chandler survived in critical condition. The entire attack were carried out in less than 15 minutes.

Bundy then broke into an FSU student Cheryl Thomas’ apartment, dislocating her shoulder and fracturing her skull and jaw. She was left permanently deaf and with an equilibrium imbalance which destroyed her dance career. At the scene, investigators found a pantyhose mask with hair and a semen stain which was helpful in connecting the crime to Bundy.
