This week we trade the warm sand of the desert for the cool and soggy conditions of the Monterey Peninsula as the annual celebrity hackfest and clam bake returned to Pebble Beach. Spieth held on with a chicken wing swing while wearing a blue shirt (seriously, how many blue shirts does this guy have???), Greyson and G/FORE won over the celebrities, and Nike created more controversy with layering pieces.
Sorry, I didn’t include any images from the Maybank Championship on the European Tour. I can recap it in one sentence, though. All the lads wore white pants and white belts. Done!

You can typically pencil in Justin Timberlake for “Best Dressed Amateur” every year at Pebble, but this year you would need an eraser. Kunal Nayyar created the biggest fashion bang this year (sorry, pun intended) by bringing some serious swagger. These lime green pants were a beacon of light in the gloomy conditions and the gray sweater provided great balance. As always, the best dressed guys nail the details and Kunal did just that by matching his glove to the tipping on his collar. Well played.
Justin Timberlake
I finally found someone who has more Linksoul hats than I do! Timberlake seamlessly paired the SoCal brand’s cool lids with his RLX and Greyson threads throughout the week. By now you know my feelings on polo shirts and base layers, but nonetheless, JT looked sharp. He took a risk while showing some sartorial creativity with this combination of a camo polo, navy blue tech vest and orange pants.
Kelly Rohrbach
Right now you are thinking this is a blatant attempt to get an SI swimsuit model into the weekly recap, and you are right. But, it is also a great opportunity to showcase the future of puffer jackets and vests. Expect to see designers doing more interesting things with the channeling and stitching. Here, Under Armour has gone beyond the basic diamonds and rectangles to create a stylish look.

Greyson & G/FORE
Every year, a couple of brands have high adoption rates with the celebs and Greyson and G/FORE were the big winners this year. Every time I looked up, wolf eyes were staring back at me and brightly colored gloves were on the screen. They even managed to get more camera time than the dolphins, seals, and dogs frolicking in the nearby waters. (No easy feat thanks to CBS being more interested in showing us Jim Nantz’s house than live golf.) Props to both brands. I’ve been singing their praises for a few years. They continue to provide modern and edgy points of view while respecting the traditions of the game.

Josh Duhamel & Morgan Hoffmann
Speaking of Greyson, brand ambassador Morgan Hoffmann and actor Josh Duhamel both rocked the label’s Koko hoodie. Last week I talked about Tony Finau bringing a casual and athletic vibe to the course with a Nike hoodie, but this cashmere blend sweater from Greyson offers a more sophisticated and luxurious take on the style.

Nike is no stranger to controversy. Last week, Tony Finau’s aforementioned hoodie created a stir, and this week it was this technical sweater. I’ve posted a lot of new school looks to social media over the years (joggers, high-tops, blade collars, etc.), but none led to the verbal fisticuffs that this Nike sweater did. What do you think? Crewnecks have been a huge trend in menswear and they are finally making their way to the course. If you are looking to add one to your on-course wardrobe, this one from Linksoul is a stylish option. I like how the elbow patches bring an element of sophistication to an otherwise casual look. Pro tip: be sure to keep the collar of your polo shirt tucked in.
