Nice Girl To Love
review 1: This books picks up where the first left off. Now that Connor has stepped away to give his brother a chance to explore his relationship with cabbie, Brian isn’t going to blow it. He loves cabbie and wants a chance to make her his.Brian is the guy we all love. He is loyal, kind, sweet, has the heart the size of Montezuma and truly is a great guy. When you read about his years with his wife before she died have Kleenex ready. He’s an amazing guy. Totally deserves love. This is the story of his time with abbie and it is sweet and incredibly romantic. The little things he does that show his feelings and that he always listened to her is exquisite. Violet duke truly knows how to write a beautiful story of loving unconditionally and of how to woo. Yes woo for Brian is the pe... morerfect wooer. He’s swoonworthy. And abbie with him was sweet.Together they are adorable and how she loves his daughter is just incredible. Their tale is so swoon with each date and moment you will smile. But the orchids incident really ladies a transformer especially with the ending that had your jaw drop. A beautifully romantic story of a man who is opening himself up to his best friend and trying to show her their love is true and real.
review 2: Abbey and Connor's month has ended, and a surprise development has occurred in the time Abbey is grieving the loss of her relationship with Connor. Brian declares that he has had feelings for her that go beyond the scope of their friendship and he would like to see if they can take their relationship further. Abbey is shocked and it is tough for her to determine if her deep love for Brian can go beyond friendship while she is still hung up on his brother. Abbey has always felt like part of Brian's family, and her relationship with his daughter Skylar makes everything more complicated since she would love take her mother role with her even further. Brian is ready to try and move forward 6 years after the loss of his wife, and his feelings for Abbey are much stronger than he has giving himself permission to realize. Connor has agreed to step aside so that Abbey can decide for herself who is right for her. Holy angst! I picked this up immediately after reading the first book in the series, and I must say that as a reader, I found it difficult to separate out what Abbey wanted from what I wanted. There are all kinds of tough emotional and situations going on here, and the only thing that helps is the respect and kindness the characters show each other even throughout some heart-wrenching situations. I don't want to spoil anything, but these choices Abbey faces are TOUGH! I can't wait to read the next in the series. * An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. less
