I was thrilled to find this book because readers love to compare notes with readers, and Wendy Lesser promised a rich conversation at the beginning. The problem is, she is in love with the sound of her own voice and I never got a word in edgewise.
What I mean is, she knows a lot and seems hell bent to wedge it all into every run-on paragraph. The points she makes are terrific and would have benefitted from a better editor.
I got through the book but it was exhausting.
John 1: 1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
