review 1: This is my favorite cookbook to date. As much as I loved her first cookbook, which is foundational, I think this 2nd one from Ree-The Pioneer Woman is exceptional! I read cookbooks like novels, I want to flip through every page, read about every recipe, see all the photos prior to making anything. It was a joy to get this one! The photos are gorgeous, and I love that she keeps the step-by-step aspect for each recipe. Food from My Frontier goes beyond "cowboy" fair, its a little bit of the ranch life mixed with some impressive dinner-party-worthy recipes. I specifically love the Honey-Plum Soy Chicken recipe. Other favorite sections include Pizzas, Pastas, and Canning!
review 2: I've basically been obsessed with Ree since around 2007 when I discovered her food b... morelog while on the hunt for a lasagna recipe (which still happens to be loved by anyone I've made it for). This is the first cookbook I've ever actually purchased and SO beyond words worth it. She makes food that's comfortable and for the most part simple. Nearly all the recipes are the type where you most than likely have most the ingredients on hand. less
