review 1: I thought this book was okay, but only wanted to give it one star. The beginning was jolly good, and all the narrative that followed Pride and Prejudice was fun, and I had no real problem with it; BUT once the original story was coming to a close, the author continues on in more detail and I feel she loses the thread along the way, and started to make her own story; Thats not a bad thing per se, but it's not what I wanted in a Pride and prejudice retelling. Towards the end I felt as though Elizabeth became an American (speech and behavior [English people arent overly affection in these modern days, there is no freakin way back then), and the whole story jumped a few decades, possibly even a century. (I am no history buff, and I have a poor imagination, so maybe that is whe... morere the fault lies, but because of that I really dont like this book)To me, she turned Elizabeth into a namby pamby business woman who absolutely lost her Elizabeth spark.Something fun that I experienced while reading this was the melding of every single version of Pride and Prejudice that I have ever watched, it was odd. This book added to the book version of that, all the Darcy accounts.I read the preface by the Author, I wish it had been at the back, I might have been a bit less critical. (I didnt want that information before the story, I might have appreciated it after though.)Hmm maybe I will read some more of her things, but I certainly won't be reading any more along these lines.
review 2: Of course nobody can write Pride and Prejudice better than the author, but I felt like this book helped me calm down the obsession. Of course it's a more modern version, but to me it didn't matter. It's a sweet dream about what happens once they marry and what does Darcy feel. However, I did feel like sometimes the ideas were a bit repetitive. In the end, it's no masterwork, but it was not as bad as some other fictions I have read about the book. less

Didn't hate it, didn't love it. As a P&P variation, I've read worse and I've read better.

Ok types. The narrative towards the end did not go well with the tone of the novel

Another one of those books that I'm embarrassed to admit I absolutely adore.
