review 1: I finished this book in a matter of days and I wish it were a bigger book. There is so much that I loved about the book, the Knife gets herself in a lot of trouble all the way through the book, but she is well intentioned. The book first starts with Knife as a young faery and how a human boy almost catches her, it, and then skips a couple of years to wear Knife is old enough to have a job of her own instead of doing chores for other faeries. Nevertheless, she has always longed to be outside; this is answered when Queen Amaryllis tells her that she is to be trained by Thorn who is the Queen’s hunter. What I loved about the book is how Knife’s interest in humans does not diminish, as she gets older. She makes friends with Paul who lives in the house where the Oak is afte... morer she is attacked by a crow. This causes a friendship between them that change her view on most things that happen in the Oak.I loved the ending of this book as Knife gives up being a faery so that she can be with Paul. Even though Queen Amaryllis tries to convince her to let Paul walk, instead, Paul disagrees with this and Knife still ends up being human.I am looking forward to reading the second book in this series, as I would like to know what happens between Knife and Paul.
review 2: Wow! What a book I just love love it. I have had this book of my wish list for a while, I finally went out and brought. I’m so happy I did. Where do I begin to explain how much I loved this book. First off l love the cover. I just devoured this book; it captivated my attention from the very beginning. I could with to get to the next page. The story line and pace was great. This story was unlike any Fae book I have read. There was no Seelie and Unseelie Court. You didn’t have to worry about a war breaking out among them. The fairies in this book remind of the one that live in flowers and oak trees. All the characters were great. Knife is a fighter. She doesn’t know when to give up. If you can’t find a way she makes one. She is also brave, smart, and funny. I really enjoyed going on this adventure with her and I’m looking forward to reading the next book. less
