review 1: When I saw there was a Book 2 to Ultraviolet I thought it was a continuation of the Alison/Sabastian/Tori story. It's not. This is its own story written from Tori's perspective and very poorly written. There are flashbacks from the Ultraviolet that seem off in left field. I am honestly surprised that the 2 books were written by the same author. Granted, Ultraviolet is a YA book so the writing isn't too deep or complex but this...? Ugh! I was trying to figure out what the point of the book was. To me it just seemed like the author did fairly well with the first book (I enjoyed it) and tried (poorly) to pull off a second from the momentum. Don't be fooled. The characters are all over the place, most of the story is "filler" and the plot leaves much to be desired. R... moreead Ultraviolet but skip Quicksilver. Boo.
review 2: The intense mind blowing sequel to Ultraviolet, takes place a few months after the stunning cliffhanger that left reader’s on the edge of their seats. Tori Beaugrand now has a story to tell, and it is vastly different than the style of Alison, whom readers fell in love with in the first novel. Tori is very matter-of-fact, who needs facts and numbers to makes sense of her world. At the beginning of the novel, Tori and her family have escaped their cushy perfect lives, for ones far less superior. Tori soon learns that she has attracted the attention of a man who wants to turn her into a lab rat. She must now team up with both new and old characters to defeat her enemies and finally be free. Fans of Alison and Sebastian will be happy to know that the characters do reappear sporadically throughout the novel. It is full of complete twists and turns, and nothing about this book is predictable. This series is one that I will be heavily promoting to our library patrons! less

I miss Alison's POV, but this reads just as well as the first book.
