review 1: I have decided that this book is unlike any other I have read, it takes peoples dreams and ideals and shows the realistic side, the side people don't want to hear about and makes Hollywood a lot less glamorous (in a funny way). The characters seem so unreal, but at the same time believable. As Filip's life takes a turn for the crazy we join him in his adventure and there are so many changes to his path as he figures out what he really wants. With every page there's something that makes you want to read faster and find out more about the events. These chapters will shock you, make you laugh and maybe feel a little sick - this book will definitely get a reaction from you!
review 2: Team Bryndza-great team!I have read a couple of Robert Bryndza's books before-publ
... moreished under the 'Team Bryndza' label-'The Not So Secret Emails of Coco Pinchard' and 'Coco Pinchard's Big Fat Tipsy Wedding' and how fabulous they are! I am eagerly waiting for the third in this series so was really pleased to find this book written by Robert Bryndza and his partner Jan. The writing is seamless-I don't know how they do the writing together, I don't know how they divide who does what but I really can't tell that it is by two people, it's not disjointed at all, it flows so well as if one author, it really works so well. It is quite a short book but it's written so concisely, there is so much packed into these pages, some real comedy gems. It's something different, totally unpredictable. I love the new title and the fantastic new cover. I have to admit that I have seen this book flash up at me via the amazon recommendations but it was called Bitch Hollywood and the cover didn't grab me. This cover really caught my eye, it's spot on for this book. I know it shouldn't really matter but if a book looks good it makes you want to read it. If the book is also great that's even better. Some great comedy here, it's a real hoot. If the authors read this review-I'm intrigued to know what the snack 'Schnitzels' are? I don't like to give away any of the scenarios in a review so as not to spoil it for future readers but I've just had a look through my 'notes and highlights' and there are numerous. So many great moments. This book doesn't have the same style as Robert has adopted for the two Coco Pinchard novels in that it isn't written through a series of emails, it's just normal prose. This is of course ok but I do like Robert's new style as in the Coco books, I think this works really well and the photo attachments to the said emails also help give those books a real feel for the action. I hope the third instalment of the Coco series also has this style. One instance where I missed this writing style was where Veronica and Filip were texting-it would have been a nice touch to put a photo of the said text on a mobile in the book-now I've seen this sort of thing in the other Team Bryndza books I kind of expect it now! This is a brilliant little book yet with so much substance. less
