review 1: It's been several weeks since I finished the excellent volume 17. I certainly didn't need the break, but having been gone for a while this volume served as a great entry back into the series. This is indeed an in-between volume and deals as much with the aftermath of volume 17 as with setting up the next big villain. Overall most character work was convincing, especially the developments with Carl and Rick, and the constant uncertainty that the villain might do something drastic was very unsettling.
review 2: So I watch the tv show as well and one day I ran across this meme that said, "Stay in the damn house,Carl!" This is one of those times where you just keep saying it over and over. But now that I think about it, this could all just be part of Rick's plan. A
... moret this point, I don't know. What I also know is that it's getting tiresome: the cursing and killing. It makes me think of when Ripley said in Aliens, "You don't see them screwing themselves over for a percentage." This has got to turn around. At this point, I'd rather have more back stories than this crap. less
