review 1: I am still not especially a fan of Steven King's novels... but the Dark Tower graphic novels are keeping me engaged and interested. (Even though I have been unable to read them 'in order', no less! That is quite a feat, to say the least!)In this episode/book, I find the characters especially engaging and the particular troubles they experience especially moving. I can identify with the female gunslinger who just wants to be who she is, even tho girls aren't allowed to be gunslingers... she is one, through and through. Yet another example of a society short-sighting our mothers and sisters and daughters... As she says "but you'll need me... of all the men, I'll be the only one who can stop to ask for directions..." ;) Don't sell 'em short, boys! She can out shoot... more you!
review 2: This graphic novel details Roland Deschain and his original Katet in their adventures after they return from their mission in the Barony of Mejis. This, like the novel directly preceding it, covers (at least mostly) ground that was not covered in the original Dark Tower Series. That reason and that reason alone is enough for any Dark Tower fan to read this. That said, it was an entertaining graphic novel. The characters were believable and entertaining and the plot fast-paced and enjoyable. I would recommend this to any fan of the Dark Tower. less

More intensity from King and Furth and Co. The whole series just rocks.
