review 1: If you need an action-driven book, this is not the one for you. If you like reading about how people try to come to grips with the hard events in life, then grab this one. I liked "Breakfast With Buddha" also, but not as much as I liked this book. There is a gentle humor and acceptance of our human frailty portrayed in this book. I am going to buy it now that I read the library copy because most books that I give five stars to are ones I want to read and re-read.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book, even though I read it before Breakfast with Buddha, it is a stand alone story, full of inspiration and insight into a personal journey towards enlightenment. At times sad, introspective, joyful and touches each one of us....we all go through these emotions in ou
... morer lives. The main character is a very reluctant convert from a traditional american life towards one with more meaning and contemplation. A great read for all. less
