review 1: Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Talk about intense military fiction. This is the kind of fiction that leaves you with well-bitten fingernails and a serious need to learn some self-defense. The characters were engaging from the moment they marched onto the page. Captain Dean Waters was tough, Special Forces hard, and yet our heroine Zahrah finds her way through his shell. I loved Zahrah. She knows in her mission, believes her mission and has nerves that are stronger than mine. Kendig holds nothing back in this novel. Not only is it an entertaining ride, it will also stretch you as a reader. Some parts are gritty, raw, and uncomfortable. But it's war, and Kendig isn't afraid to reveal it in its injustice, horror toward females, and the desperate need to hail our American heroes for the ... moresacrifices they make. Raptor 6 is a salute to our nation's heroes and to the men and women who fight for our country behind-the-scenes with no pomp nor circumstance. SALUTE!
review 2: Special Forces, Dean Watters, is dedicated to his mission and his team. When hackers steal ten military, highly secure computers he finds himself tangled up with a local - Zahrah Zarrick. With no desire to fall for a pretty face, he keeps a business barrier between them.Zahrah Zarrick, daughter of a retired military general, finds herself in harm's way as a missionary teacher to Afghan children. Her degree in quantum cryptology makes her a prime target for terrorists. It's Captain Dean Watters' mission to rescue her when she goes missing, but what he doesn't plan on is getting emotionally attached in the process. This was my first book to read by Ronie Kendig. Even though it wasn't a genre I typically pursue, I found Raptor 6 to be a riveting tale that kept me turning the pages. Now I'm hooked and can't wait to read the second tale in this saga. This book was provided free for review by Shiloh Run Press, 2014. less
