The Billionaires of Barefoot Bay
review 1: Seduction on the Sand: Mini-Review This is the second novella in the Billionaires of Barefoot Bay series and it starts at the end of the first one, although with a different couple. Elliot is a charming Texan, blessed with loads of luck and money. Frankie (Francesca) has taken over her grandfather's goat-farm, and has no desire to sell him the land. Again, the set-up scene was funny and sexy and everything I read Roxanne St. Claire for. Goats, a lil smexytimes (very little), a charmer learning to be honest, and letting go of past hurts. Romantic and funny and sweet, with a particularly nice grovel by Elliot. Lots of goats though. :) I've already started the third novella. Love this series.
review 2: This novella is the second in the Billionaires of BAREFOOT B
... moreAY series. I devoured the first novella in less than a day and was excited when this one picked up exactly where the first one left off. After reading all four books in the original BAREFOOT BAY series of novels, I was thrilled when Roxanne announced she would be returning to the island for a series of novellas. Skeptical at first with 'billionaire' in the title, I was thrilled that the novella was as engaging and likeable as the first. This novella tells the story of Frankie and Elliott, two very unlikely characters that have an instant attraction that grows into so much more. Taking place on the beautiful island, but on land that holds a goat farm of all things, Elliott finds himself helping the beautiful goatherd to get what he wants. And Elliott always gets what he wants. Unwilling to yield and sell her land, Frankie uses her smarts and her determination to make sure her late grandfather's land stays in her possession. As with all of Roxanne's books, the characters are genuine and likeable. This book even goes a step beyond, giving the animated goats and the dogs as much a place in this story as the main characters. There is never a dull moment, always something to laugh about and enough hot chemistry to keep you turning the pages. And just when you think there could be no happy ending with everyone winning, the surprise twist leaves you happy with the end and anticipating the next novella. I always say the hero in the most recent BAREFOOT book is my favorite, and again, Elliott is my current favorite of the BAREFOOT novellas. There's just something about a man in a black stetson! I truly cannot wait to read the next one and learn all about Naughty Nate and how he will deal with the news he receives! I was given a copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review. I can honestly say this is a keeper and I highly recommend the adventure! less
