Ruso with his wife Tilla find themselves precariously trapped in a conspiracy involving theft, forgery, and murder. The author intricately weaves her exacting research on Roman coinage and counterfeit money into a mesmerizing tale in the cities of Londinium and Verulamium during Hadrian's reign.

I grew a little weary during this book. I wanted to see more of Ruso and Tilla's relationship.
