review 1: I've always loved Ruthie Knox's writing, ever since I read About Last Night. She has that down to earth, this-people-exist-in-real-life, type of stories that just makes you ask for more. Making It Last is no exception. The story of Tony and Amber, a married couple, like any other married couple is struggling to raise a family together. Amber's feeling of discontent, the sense that she's losing herself in the midst of marriage is so familiar to many of us. While Tony's confusion as how to fix something unfixable but not wanting to lose what he values the most is probably what most married men feel prior to the marriage breaking up. So why do I love this book so much when it seems like when you first read it there was no way for a happy ever after to happen. That my H... moreEA couple might end up hurting each other and *gasp* breaking up (of which I might have to boycott Ruthie Knox). I love it because its real. Ruthie Knox gave romance back to marriage by simply saying that the road to happily ever after in marriage isn't impossible, that nothing is perfect but it doesn't mean that you or marriage can't survive imperfection. It simply means that the romance is there if you see each other's truth, supporting each other, be honest and not to be afraid of showing your vulnerability to your partner and simply go forth from there. And I still love Ms. Ruthie Knox
review 2: Making it Last (Camelot #4) - Ruthie Knox I loved this book from the first few words :) We are used to reading "beginnings", see how couples find each other, the difficulties in the beginning, how hard it is to declare what you feel for a person, to bring someone new into your life and the changes it brings. We don't get to see what happens 15 years later. when the magic is not what it used to be. when its harder and more complicated with responsibilities that you didn't have before. I guess I'm selfish by thinking I don't want any kids, I don't want to give up my life for others. I want to live my life how I want to live it.Reading about Amber and what happened to her for the past 15 years, what happened to her relationship with Toni made me think about myself also and the things I want. how he give up things sometimes simply because we "get on with the flow" and we loose track of what was important to us. I loved how Toni brought Amber back. back from when she sank. back to who she was. I enjoyed reading the short while it took them to be honest with each other and to put into words - say the words to each other - what they are feeling. about their relationship and how they want the future to be. This book was a beautiful ending to this series. I enjoyed each one of them. hard for me to choose my most loved one. they where all beautifully written and captured me from the first page. I'm looking forward to Ruthie's next book! I'm sure I'm going to love it! :) less
