review 1: It honestly took me a while to get through this book, not because it wasn't interesting but because many of the stories felt too similar. I needed to give myself time before I was ready for another one. Obviously, as an anthology, some of these stories were very good and others weren't so much. Some of the memorable ones for me were "Almond," "HIV Infection," "Miscarriage," and "While Saving Another." Others I found very confusing and had more of a WTF? reaction, such as "Murder and Suicide Respectively" and "?" I was more or less expecting a Final Destination type of book and once I saw the Table of Contents I thought it would be the stories of various deaths predicted by this machine. I couldn't have been more wrong. Most of these had little to do with actual dyin... moreg and more to do with how the world or individual lives would change if machine existed that could predict how we would die with unfailing accuracy. I found that very refreshing. It was more reflective of society (such as setting up camps for people with nuclear bomb deaths or isolating people who would suffer violent deaths so the violence wouldn't affect others).
review 2: This book is brilliant, absolutely brilliant. All aspects of it were just mind-blowing, let it be the theme, let it be the stories, heck even the individual illustration were fun to look at and relate to the story. "So imagine that you had a machine which could successfully tell you how would you die, what would you do?" this vague yet simple question gave the readers unlimited potential to build brilliant stories that would just leave you amazed. With the best 30 stories, out of approximately 700 participations, gathered and published this book, you can fairly guess that this book will be excellent. It is great mixture of different kinds of stories that will make you laugh, make you cry, leave you wanting more, or give you an ambivalent feeling about whether you like it or not. In my humble and personal opinion, while there were a couple that left me wondering what is going on, most of the stories were amazing and it shows you that a lot of people have potential in writing. I do hope that from this book, brilliant writers will be given the attention they deserve and the encouragement to publish their own books. less

I'm interested in shorts and action pack. But not violent stuff.
