review 1: Anyone who knows my reading record over recent years knows that my passion for Scandanavian noir as it now seems to be called, knows no bounds, and comes with no apology either. I am less familiar with Sweden's Asa Larsson, but on the strength of Until Thy Wrath Be Past, I'll be looking for more. Her main character is female prosecutor Rebecca Martinson. In winter frozen Kiruna, Martinson and the local police are landed with what initially seems like a diving accident, with one body found and the other missing. Forensic evidence suggest otherwise as the water in her lungs comes, not from the river in which she was found, but from a lake nearby. Add to that a shady but rich local family who have spent years avoiding the law mainly by a willingness to threaten their townsfol... morek with either physical or financial blackmail. I rate this thriller on a par to the regions other crime writers, Mankell, Nesbo, Marklund etc. This won't be the last Asa Larsson thriller I'll be reading.
review 2: Velka, siva, bezbreha nuda... zaujimal ma jedine vyvoj vztahu medzi Rebeckou a Kristerom, vsetko ostatne boloa voda pod mostom. V skutocnosti by si kniha zasluzila tak dva a pol hviezdicky, vyssie hodnotenie udelujem iba kvoli navratu inak oblubenych postav. Tie mali v prvej i druhej knihe slusne naznaceny vyvoj, dokonca i v trojke sa tie vztahy akosi posunuli, ale tento diel je ako sachova partia dvoch pacientov po lobotomii. Docitam posledny diel, ktory vysiel v cestine, a uz sa k tejto serii nevratim. less
