review 1: I really quite liked this one. There didn't seem to be anything specifically Scandinavian about it, other than the names and locations. More than anything it reminded me of Karin Slaughter, which is absolutely no bad thing.Good story, moved gently but definitely along. I found the main character, Louise, interesting and not cliched. Good climax, not drawn out unnecessarily but with a couple of red herrings thrown in to keep it interesting. I'll certainly look out for some more Blaedel.
review 2: Just finished reading the book a minute ago so I'll write my review while everything is still fresh in my head.Okay, so the book was nice. I was at the edge of my seat on many parts while reading especially near the end. It was a good read. But!It would have been be
... moretter if there were more descriptions as to how the characters looked like. It would have been easier to picture the scenes while reading if I knew how the characters introduced look. Not that I wanted each facial feature and body parts to be described in great detail. I just needed something like hair color and length, body type, eyes, height, etc. Maybe that's just me but yeah. They looked like slender in my head for the good half of the book. After that I just gave up and created my own characters. The ending was also very abrupt. I felt like another chapter was needed. An epilogue perhaps. I'd really like to know what happened to Suzanne. Did Peter sort out his mess? Camilla & Henning still together? Did Louise and Flemming see each other again, outside work? How about Jorgen? What's his sentence? Maybe there's a book next to this that'll explain what happened but like I mentioned, I just finished the book and had to stare at nothingness for about a minute to try and figure out what the heck just happened.I liked the story though. It's exciting and full of suspense. I liked the characters. I like Louise very much. There were some awkward moments which I found really funny.I'd recommend this book! And now I'm off to search if there's a book after this that'll feed the curiosity this book gave me when it ended so suddenly.:) less
